The track was born last summer at Giungla’s place in Milan when we sat down for a writing session together.
Visually videogame characters like Crash and Sonic came to mind and we thought that the idea of a race was perfect for the melody.
We imagined a sort of silly competition against frenzy, anxiety, tiredness, what other people think about you, and at the same time the need to keep going and challenge yourself.
We finished it remotely between Milan and London (where Hån lives) during this lockdown and it’s also a reflection on what it feels like to be a musician in a year when you can’t really tour.
We felt that the only thing that makes sense now it’s collaborating and sharing. We’re in this race together.

La traccia è nata la scorsa estate a casa di Giungla quando ci siamo ritrovate per provare a scrivere qualcosa assieme.
Visivamente ci sono venuti in mente personaggi di videogame come Crash e Sonic e abbiamo pensato che l’idea di una gara fosse perfetta per la melodia.
Abbiamo immaginato una sorta di corsa contro la frenesia, l’ansia, la stanchezza, quello che le persone pensano di te, e allo stesso tempo il bisogno di non fermarsi mai e mettersi alla prova con sé stessi.
L’abbiamo finita a distanza tra Milano e Londra, dove ora Giulia vive, durante questo secondo lockdown ed è anche un po’ una riflessione su come ci si sente ad essere musiciste in un anno in cui in fondo non si può suonare dal vivo.
Abbiamo sentito che l’unica cosa che aveva senso in questo momento era finirlo e condividerlo. Questa “gara” la corriamo assieme.
